Default Midi notes hanging in PT10

I have this issue that I've dealt with for over a year but its really wearing on me. I am using pro tools 10.3.7 and I notice when using midi sometimes my notes "hang" and continue playing while I've stopped the track. Its very annoying. I usually hit playback and play the same piece again and the issue resolves itself almost like I have to "hit" the hanging note again for it to stop. I run all VI's and it almost always does this with every manufacturer of instrument except for piano VI's. My assumption is that there is not endless sustaining notes on piano VI's. What am I doing wrong?

That might be an issue of MIDI, not so much ProTools. If you have a lot of sustain pedal ons/offs and stop the track in just the right place your MIDI device might be left with an on instead of receiving the off which it was supposed to receive. I've experienced this with every version of ProTools which incorporated MIDI and with other sequencers as well. Also, certain VIs seems to be more likely to sustain in that way than others.

Not sure it will help, but there's really no reason not to update to 10.3.8(but I always recommend a backup plan before ANY update). Drive imaging is a must for ALL computer users

Did you ever fix this issue? I am facing a similar problem but in playing back midi. Notes would still be hanging until I hit stop. Thanks to let me know
