help with 002 monitoring section; urgent

Hi all, I have a gig on wednesday, and I noticed my 002 is doing something strange.

Out of the headphone input, I am hearing a staticy sound coming out of the left headphone. It seems to get louder and softer on its own (at one point it dissapated completely for about 5 minutes), but it's usually always there. It doesnt matter if the mute button is pressed, if the firewire cable is unplugged, if pro tools is on, or if its in standalone mode; as long as the alternate monitoring source button isnt pressed and the 002 is on, it emmits the noise.

I also checked the monitors, and sure enough the left monitor speaker is emitting the same thing.

What could this be? Its very annoying.

Luckily it isnt anything in the gain stages because it is not being recorded, it has something to do with monitoring. Any ideas???

Since it is a DIGI002, I would try reseating the power harness connections. While it is not one of the normal symptoms of the power harness(a well documented issue with almost all 002's), you just never know. Do a search of the DUC for "reseat power harness" or just "power harness" and you should find lots of posts including a few that explain the procedure.
