PT7.3.1 BUG: renaming region hangs/crashes PT

When renaming an audio file from within PT (either by double-clicking on the region name in the Region List or on the region itself in the Edit window), Pro Tools LE 7.3.1 will hang/crash (spinning color ball) and yield the error message "Application Not Responding." This was already occuring in earlier versions of PT but I was hoping Digi would notice and fix it...

Anyone else experiencing this?

This is an intermittent problem, but I have experienced it dozens of times.
I have tried troubleshooting in the following ways: Restarting the application several times. Restarting the computer several times. Trashing prefs. Verified Disk Permissions with Disk Utility. Thanks for any help!

PT LE 7.3.1, Digi002rack
Mac OS 10.4.8
PB G4, 1MHz, 768MB, 40GB internal
Maxtor 250 GB external
All plug-ins removed

This obviously isn't a "bug" or other people would be having this issue. Since renaming the file means accessing the drive file tree, I'd check the integrity of your hard drives to start - Disk Warrior would be a good thing to start with, after trashing Volume and database files of course as outlined in the "General Troubleshooting" thread.

You're also hangin' on the edge of compatibility with that setup - you might want to consider more RAM for your powerbook since you're probably hitting the system pretty hard just by starting up PT.

Also, what is your firewire chain? Drive first then 002r right?

I have the same problem with this. I have a g5quad with plenty of ram. 2x Glyph hard drives . Hope i can get the song back.
