Hello to everyone! I'm new here :) So, today I clean my iMac to install on it only software that I'm using...after I realise that I don't have PT 12.4 just PT 12.1 to download on my account I'm using more UAD's plugins so I was very happy when I got 12.4.1 with freeze function, and now?...Why Avid do that?

I don't suppose anyone would mind PMing me a download link for 12.4 as I've seen in this thread?

I've been searching for an installer link, but only have 12.5.2/12.5 and then the legacy installers (PT 11 etc.) in My Avid account. I've got a perpetual license but no support plan to contact them.

I've currently got a real problem with CPU spiking issue on an i7 Windows setup. No problems for years (since maybe Pro Tools 6!) up until now so really need a solution.

It's about accounting for revenue on the balance sheet within their "service contract model". Apparently, each version they make available impacts how the revenue from that user is recorded. Something like that, no real clue since I'm not a tax accountant.

hi drew, maybe we can suggest to Avid, a link to a site that would allow people that DID NOT download all the Installers like most of us do, a way to get older software .. they would of course have to put in an activation code or some other sort of Proof they own / use the software ..

something for the future ..

They do, and the site is called Avid.com. And provided you have an active support plan, you can get what you need. Some secondary site supported by Avid would fail to absolve them of this chosen accounting practice.

Users need to download and KEEP installers (as they should be doing anyway) for their current versions.

You can create a case regarding your concern and get support via Email. Just go to your Avid Account at my.avid.com and log in. Then go to https://www.avid.com/learn-and-support/contact-audio-and-music-support
and click "Start your support case"
If you have a System ID or an active Avid Support Code, you can call directly through the numbers available on that page.
On your cases, you can request for the installers you need if your account is eligible.

Avid.com ... I Copy All That ... those crazy Accountants !!! and yes, everyone needs to Save all the INstallers like we do ..

is there any official policy about helping out a fellow PT user in a pinch ???

I definitely appreciate reading all these replies, and thanks John for suggesting a solution for people who have gotten into an unforeseen situation!..

I used to keep all installers backed up, I don't know when I stopped doing that - but I think it was when Avid modernised the site and it seemed easier just to download whenever I needed.

The email support idea is good....IF you have a support plan; I have an update plan until the end of the year but no support plan.

Still stuck on how to get an installer. Yes, I do wish I'd have archived the 12.4 installer, but as I mentioned I haven't any problems for so many years (you can probably see I haven't posted for perhaps 5 years or so).

Oh well, I have worked on my Apollo 16 at 64 or 128 buffer size for quite a while...this is now producing errors so I guess I will revert back to old workarounds of using 1024 unless using VIs and try and go from there.
