Oh gosh I hope so. My rumor mill says that maybe Z-systems can make a full digital patchbay with digilink connectors and MADI and AES and and and drool drool..

Please repeat after me :
Digidesign NEEDS an all digital interface made for pros.

Repeat this mantra until it happens

Default all digital interface coming?

Dave Le Bolt said:
It took a lot of work to get the HD system out, and there are many new things we'd
like to see the system do. It's possible that in not-too-distant future there will be a
peripheral that connects to HD that is solely for digital connectivity... but we don't
have anything to announce at this time.

Dave,
Any news on this yet? It would solve a huge problem for many of us. I'm sure sales are rolling along because of the impending June 30th upgrade date. What happens after that will be interesting. I'm sure sales would increase even more with the release of the product you speculated on. As you know, there are many of us who love PT but would prefer the option to configure it to meet our needs.
Thanks,
JC

I would love to see an all-digital interface, to make it easier and more cost-effective to incorporate other converters. It would be great to see this before June 30!

My two systems and two systems of a client that I service are waiting on this issue to be resolved before making the HD jump. Digi needs to give us a clue.

hee hee!
you said "logical and economically effective." this is a Digidesign buletin board you know. i liked "economically effective" the best. "economically effective TDM product lines."

there's an even better one!
seriously, a great idea though.

Add my name to the list of users wanting all digital I/O. One of the (many) great things about my old Sonic Solutions system was a completely modular I/O capability. Each 1U unit was either 8 analog or digital in or 8 analog or digital out. These could be combined in any way. For example, 6 units comprising 8 analog and 8 digital in, 32 digital out. It was logical and economically effective.
