Default Stopping Pro Tools from installing Avid AAX plugins

Hello everyone, is there a way to stop Pro Tools from installing plugins like BF1176 or Maxim etc? I don't ever use them but when I remove them from the plugin folder, Pro Tools just re-installs them.
So frustrating.

Please help, Thanks, Marc

You can remove them from the application file.

Right click the Pro Tools app icon and select ‘Show Package Contents’

Navigate to Contents/Plugins/Core Plug-Ins and you’ll find all the included Avid plugins there. If you delete them from that folder, they will not copy across to your plugins folder when you launch the app.

They are installed automatically from their hiding place (/Applications/Pro Tools.app/Contents/PlugIns/Core Plug-Ins) within the Pro Tools.app bundle.

Darryl Angel: It's possible to remove them from that bundle but I really would not do that unless you really know what you are doing.

Darryl Devil: No go on just remove the plugin you don't like. What can go wrong? Nothing to me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You're going to have to do this each time you update Pro Tools of course
