Default Hp dual xeon cpu with pt12

I am purchasing a refurbished HP 820 workstation running Windows 7. I will be loading the very newest version of Pro Tools 12 on it. My question is about the CPU. Is there any common issue or re-occurring conflict with Pro Tools if I install 2 Intel XEON e5-2643 (3.3Gzh) processors? Each processor has 4 cores. Or is it better to install one Intel XEON e5-2640 v3 (2.94GHZ) processor (8 cores). Does it matter at all ? Anybody? Thanks.

I have a HP820z with dual 8 core processors and 128 gig of ram. It ran great with Windows 7 and Protools 12.4. I tried upgrading to Windows 10 and Protools 12.5 and several versions released up to 12.7 and had nothing but trouble with-9173 errors even when setting the buffers up to 1024. This is with Protools HD and all Avid hardware. It was so bad I had to do a complete reinstall of Windows 7 and Protools 12.4 to get it working again. With Protools 12.4 and Windows 7 it runs perfectly again. That is where I will stay. Hope that helps.

Please do yourself a favor and get a backup program like Macrium Reflect. Make images of your OS drive before any update/upgrade/install/uninstall. If/when something goes south, you can be back to where you were when you made the image (or you can clone drives and swap them in and out as some do). It's too easy and saves so much grief not to do it.

audioman1973 Thanks for the input. Just really wanted to find out if there will be any dropouts at all or hesitations in the processing because of two CPUs.
