Please Help!!! Audio Pops using 002 w/ Rosetta 800
Hello-I would appreciate some suggestions on this issue. I searched the forums and tried different suggestions but cannot eliminate audio pops when I record enable the track(s).
Here is the config: G5/ Dual Proc 2.0/ OS: 10.3.9 / 002 We tried using the Rosetta as clock master and then reverted to using the internal clock. A techie friend from a studio here in town told us to power down the Mac, Rosetta and 002 and then reboot in this order: Rosetta , 002 HW then the Mac. We are using lightpipe. Do we need the the mini DAC by Apogee??? Please let me know if you need any more info. Is is the software ver? We used it with 10.3.8 with no issues. Thanks so much, Corey |

Re: Please Help!!! Audio Pops using 002 w/ Rosetta 800
Update: The problem seems to have been resolved but we haven't actually started tracking so our fingers are crossed.
I discovered that the core audio driver's buffer settings were different than the session so I changed that. I am not sure if that would effect the situation but if not, I will be back . I wanted to give an update so as not to waste anyone's time. |

Re: Please Help!!! Audio Pops using 002 w/ Rosetta 800
So we are having no problems and I must conclude that the issue was caused by the core audio driver's buffer settings being different than the ones set in the HW setup in PTS. This doesn't make sense to me, however, because I was under the impression that the core audio driver is not running when you are using the PTs software (only for third party apps using the PTs HW). Can anyone confirm?

Re: Please Help!!! Audio Pops using 002 w/ Rosetta 800
I can't confirm on the audio driver. I have an Octopre with the light pipe option. The way I set this up is in Hardware set up I set my clock to Adat. Mic input is whatever channel I'm using on the Octopre. So if I'm using Channel 1 on the Octopre I set the channel mic input in Pro Tools set to Adat 1. It works great. Your Roseeta should work the same.....but not familiar with it. Make sure your bit and sample rate is the same as your session. Meaning if your PT session is 16 bit , 48khz your Rosetta should be set the same way otherwise you'll get pops and glitches when recording cause the clocks aren't synced.

Re: Please Help!!! Audio Pops using 002 w/ Rosetta 800
I have a Rosetta 200, 002rack and a Dual 1.8 G5 running 10.4.6 and PT 7.1
since moving to PT 7, im getting intermittent pops. they do not record, they do not repeat in the same place. i checked the above solution and both of my buffer settings are the same. i am clocked to the Rosetta and connected to it via SPDIF. any thoughts? something else i should try? |
