Default Downmixer in 2020.3 (Catalina)

Has anybody else been clobbered by the Avid 7.1 -> Stereo Downmixer?

I've been making a 7.1 session for somebody and just dropped the downmixer into my monitor track. It ran for about 5 seconds and then froze my computer. Couldn't force-quit or even wake up the finder. It required a hard shutdown of my system. This has happened three times in a row. I'm not going to give it a fourth chance.

I'm on Mojave and I just ran through some different 7.1 routings and downmixing without issue. Could you share the session file to see how you're routing?

Otherwise, I suggest the usual trash prefs and databases.

Happy to share the file (and I appreciate your response). I'm probably missing something, but I don't see how I can send an attachment through the forum.

Dropbox link or any common file sharing service. Just the .ptx file.

Unfortunately I can't recreate your crash. I'm using a Red 8Pre via HD Native.

I tried inserting the downmixer as soon as I opened the session. No crash.

I brought in some 7.1 content and did various things with it. No crash.

I combed through all the routings hoping to find a sub-path routed to another sub-path or main path and found no problems there.

The one thing in the session that I don't have is the surround reverbs. Maybe test by removing the reverbs from the plugins folder and seeing if you can successfully insert the downmixer?
