Rendering an effect on a portion of a track
I've got seven tracks of a drum recording, about 4 minutes long. Let's say it's snare, kick, tom, tom, hats, overhead 1 and overhead 2. For this, I'm working on track 5, the hi hats. This track is panned full left.
There is a small section of this track that I want to render and echo effect on and have it panned full stereo. Now I suppose that for panning full stereo I could just copy the track and pan the copy full right, correct? Is there a easier/better way to do that? Also, how do I render and echo effect on just a small portion of that track? Like say during a verse where they are playing 16's? Not the whole track. How do I do that? Thanks! |

Re: Rendering an effect on a portion of a track
With time-based effects(echo and reverb), you are better off using an aux send to an aux track, put the echo plugin on the aux track, and automate the send so that the part you want to get echo'd is the only part of the track that gets sent. To use audiosuite successfully, you would need dead air after the part you wish to echo, or the echo'e would be cut off.
