2021.12 Install hangs

I can not get the installer to install the software, I threw out the old Pro Tools software, via the instructions on Avid site, I downloaded the 2021.12 installer launched it and has been hung up for an hour on writing files with no movement with the installation bar, the Mac Activity monitor show Data being written at 62.9 mb sec!

When you threw out the old PT software, did you also throw out the HD driver? That is needed on windows, so it may be worth trying

What a confusing mess of a signature. Why not avoid wasting other people’s time and just provide info on the system you are having problems with?

This behavior is pretty unusual. Do you have anti-virus software or similar crapware installed? If so uninstall all that. I would download another copy of the installer. Reboot the computer and try again. If that does not work then I would not waste time faffing around trying to debug stuff… instead try a new clean install of macOS on a new container (or external SSD) and just run the Pro Tools installer to see if that works, if so then set that up as your new working macOS image. (And do clean installs of all other apps and drivers, do *not* use the system migration utility to move apps or drivers to that image).

I’m curious to know how much space you have left on the 2013 Mac Pro SSD you’re installing to.

Thanks to all for response’s it finally installed yes, I thought signature was clear Mac OS 11.6.1 , that being said I have no virus software and I use Carbon Copy Cloner so if all else’s failed I could start over… cheers to all and Happy New Year

Oh and yes the HD driver has a terminal script for uninstalling HD drivers, I did use that as well
