As I read it, that Network Site License isn't an optional extra that is paid for. No other row headers refer to options, its just the category. As it reads, this coming soon NSL isn't included in First, is in Standard but only has the plugin bundle, and it is in Ultimate with those extras including Heat. If it were an optional extra, why is the Machine Control listed which all Ultimate users already have?

Perhaps someone from Avid would like to clear this up?

I would love to be wrong because I want Heat! But I'm not holding my breath. Other paid additions are mentioned in there as well. All the hardware, Dolby Atmos for example... they all cost extra.

Heat appears to remain a paid addition for us users of Pro Tools HD.
Then how did machine control get unlocked? Ultimate!!

Those are quite separate. While it's still not a triumph of clarity, the reference with Atmos is "Dolby Atmos Workflows", not saying that it includes Atmos itself. In the relevant section for Heat, the full text is:

Quote:
All plug-ins in the Avid Complete Plug-in Bundle, plus HEAT, Pro Tools | MachineControl, and Pro Tools | DigiLink I/O License
All the other elements there are relatively recent additions, and available now to all Ultimate owners.

Of course, someone from Avid could clear all this up, but they seem strangely silent. Again.

EDIT - thinking about it, including the full Atmos engine and Heat with Ultimate would go some way to justifying the huge cost differential between it and Vanilla.

"There are a few Avid plug-ins that are not included in the Avid Complete Plugin Bundle - Avid HEAT, Aphex Aural Exciter and Big Bottom. These are the plug-ins that are included in the Complete Bundle, which are now included in Pro Tools Ultimate."

Say what???

Yes once again the there is somewhat confusing wording in PT documentation

Although the Complete bundle page states this * Please note that Avid HEAT and Aphex Aural Exciter and Big Bottom Pro are not included in the Avid Complete Plug-in Bundle.

OK so even though it is not included in the "complete bundle."

BUT stated to be included with Ultimate in the new comparison chart

It does say "coming soon " so it is not offered yet and could be a while

Heat will never be included in the normal PT Ultimate licence...

The comparsion chart shows, that Heat only is included in the Network Site Licence...which is for facilities with multi seat setups...
And will coming soon... So Studios who need more than one license will be able to buy the network site licence for more than one workstation...
