Bounce volume too low (was working fine)
Hi All,
Using PT Studio 2023.12.0; Win10 Ryzen 9; suddenly the volume on my bounces are down at least 20db. This is a sudden change, no idea at all what the cause is. Anybody else besides me having issues? Volume inside the mix window is normal; but now every time I bounce the newly rendered bounce file is way low compared to other recent bounces (and this is true for every session file I've tried so far, even very simple 5 track session). The only thing I've updated recently is SonarWorks, but I don't see how that's involved if it's not a plug-in in the session. And when it is I bypass it before bounce. Suggestions? |

Re: Bounce volume too low (was working fine)
Hmmm, I would start by double checking your routing. Its possible(happened to me) to end up with a bus that matches the name of your main outputs so anything accidentally feeding the bus will be heard on playback, but left out of a bounce. Also check your bounce source to make sure that didn't change. The fancier you get with routing, the more places things can go wrong. Many like to bus tracks thru AUXES, then maybe thru more AUXES.....as for me, I let everything go to the main outputs for 95% of the time. I might put up an AUX to submix strings, lots of BGV's(more than 4-5), or maybe the entire band(with vocals feeding their own AUX), but most of my mixes(60-75 tracks) just hit L&R with a some parallel compression on drums. Of course, your needs may be different. I just come from liking to keep things simple(just because I CAN do something, doesn't mean I need to do it)

Re: Bounce volume too low (was working fine)
Hi Dave, thanks for the reply.
Just did a retest, using a two-track session, nothing but wav, normalized output to zero vu on the PT Master track. No special routing, no aux buses, no plug-ins. Bounced file is down at least -20db. Sound quality is normal, just very soft. Don't know what to do. About to uninstall SonarWorks, later I'll reinstall, rollback one version. I can't be the only one having trouble if that's the cause. Regards, Dan. |

Re: Bounce volume too low (was working fine)
I've had master buss plugins go to default settings when the project is reloaded. Don't know why. This is where my sudden volume change was located. I've also seen the rerouting issue above, whether that was my fault or not, I do not remember.
