Default History of Pro Tools

I was on a website once that actually had a timeline of how Pro Tools got started and why it's the industry standard. I can't seem to find that link anywhere. Do any of you guys know what I'm talkin about and have that link?

There used to be a timeline on Wikipedia but it changed a year ago or so.

There's still a time line of sorts, but not very in-depth at all.

Peter Gotcher should be the one to step in, and explain!!

In short, Peter Gotcher's first company was Digidrums, manufacturing eprom chips for drum machines such as Drumulator, obeheim, linn, etc.
Out of necessity, he created a program to edit samples (Sound Designer) influenced by Fairlight.

The rest is history.

Digi used to have a video time-line celebrating their anniversary. Still out there, Digi?

It would be cool if they did something for their web tv. Maybe a couple of episodes each featuring a big moment of the company with people involved talking about it?

I saw this wikipedia page, but the website/timeline I was talking about in my original post was a little better than that.

I remember the time line that your referring to, Has anyone thought to look at web archive. org or whatever its called? SPKGUITAR managed to link to the old DISKFLIX series for some a while back.

I was thinking of something different but that is a good link. They really ought to update that information and put in on the current web site.

I think Stiffs idea is great, a short video history of PT would be great with snippets from the people involved, vintage screen shots etc

Narrated by Vocal Voodoo of course.
