Digi 002 Broken after 6th hour of use

So, my unit powers on but nothing appears in the scribble strip except a faint lumination. The mute button is red. No workie.

I purchased this thing new a year or so ago and have finally decided to use it instead of my trusty reliable D8b. I have used it long enough load 7.1 upgrade and to re-register a bunch of plugins and listen to a demo.

Is this that power unit solder issue I think I remember hearing about with these 002s?

That is about frustrating.

Yes, the LEDs and the mute are dead giveaways that it's the power harness. Call up tech support. It took me maybe 5 minutes to talk it over with the guy, they sent me a new one in 2 days, took another 10 minutes to install. Sucks, but it happens. Good luck.

The worst part is these things happen about one hour after tech support closes on a firday before a weekend I had planned to really get back into using PT again.

Unlike many others I am fortunate to have my D8b and my Otari I can go visit at my space. I kinda was excited about doing some work from home....

Maybe I'll shovel some dirt instead. I had been avoiding that.
