Play 24 bit files in Windows Media Player!

Hey all,

Just stumbled across this today and am amazed at how simple this solution is. I've run it on my production system and it works perfectly.

Just download this:

http://www.chrisnet.net/msdn/AudioTypeConvert.zip

You will need to copy the AudioTypeConvert.ax file somewhere onto
your system and manually register the filter using regsvr32. E.g. if you
copy it to C:\Windows\System32 then, at the "run prompt" you would type:
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\AudioTypeConvert.ax

To disable it if you have a problem, at the "run prompt," type:
regsvr32 /U c:\windows\system32\AudioTypeConvert.ax"

Ive been using winamp for this purpose. Great for quickly previewing files thru your HD system without the need to fire up tools. Works fine with 24 bit.
