Default FIRE WIRE

I ordered a QPS Firewire CDRW (clams to includes everything needed to get started with Toast 4.0 software) last night for $380 at egghead.com. I decided to go with
the firewire even though it is not Master List CD approved by Digi. By going this rout I will not need a SCSI card I believe I will be saving a pci expansion slot
for a future second monitor etc. and it also fits my budget.

I'm learning along the way and hope that I have made good decisions.
Any wisdom shared here will definitely be appreciated.

I had a lot of problems with a QPS USB CDR on a Mac only recently did they post a bridge to fix it to work with Toast.A friend tested a firewire DVD Ram and also had problems. I hope this has been ironed out by now but if it doesn't work, don't do what I did and wait until it was roo late to send it back. I was busy and had a lot of other stuff to deal with, by the time I got round to finding out that there were problems it was too late! Test it out well when you get it. I hadn't used a CD R at all before getting it and assumed that it was my own ignorance so put off learning how to use it.....Toast's manual didn't help as it seemed to me to be more a glossary of definitions.....good luck anyway and keep us posted as I really would like to find a back up solution that works!
