Default Theres an "X" on my midi note!!!!!

Please help me, this is the first time Ive used midi this way, that is to say, Im running drum triggers through an Alesis DM5 into Digi001, and miking all the drums as well.
The problem is that Im getting crosses on all my midinotes and cant edit them. I have a session in aobut 2 hours and these rock'n roll guys are used to smooth midi sessions. I'm not!!!!
When I run my Roland R5 through my Mt4 input, the crosses go away, but not with the DM5. I am running the Dm5 directly into the 001 mdi in, and using a second Dm5 from the output of the MT4 as the sound module.
How do I get rid of the dreaded X note?
Thanks
Im using protools 5.2 and beta32track.

The X notes are very short notes.

Do you want to get rid of them of do you just want to make them longer so you can grab and edit them.

Try highlighting the area and then go into the midi edit functions and set the note length to a fixed amount.... say a 1/16 note.

I don't know why the 001 midi input is performing differently to the Mt4. I have a D4 drum module and haven't had this happen.

Perhaps the DM5 can be set to fix the note length.

Im going to grab and edit them. The drummer is very good, but uses a lot of quick grace notes that will need to be edited. Its strange how I can send a midi note from my R5 drum module into protools and works fine, but not from the DM5 with the triggers.
I just dont get it and its quite frustrating. There must be a fix somewhere...thanks for the post tho.
Any more suggestions???Anyone????

There doesnt seem to be any way of lengthening a midi note from the DM5. Is there any other way?

Only what I suggested before about highlighting the area and using the midi transform and change the note length.

Duplicate the track so you don't destroy it.

Midi
Change Duration
Set all to

... chose a length like 1/16 or 0|240

good luck
