Default metering

Is there a way to see the actual levels in the metering of Protools like we used to in 5x?
I just got the 7.1 and the meters correspond with the fader levels, but not the signal input.
Can someone help with this please.

I alays use pre-fader metering since I never run faders above 0.

If you command+click on the fader volume indicator (not the meter) it should switch to peak level.

Thanks, but Im not talking about the meters themselves, Im talking about the digital numbers that correspond with the meters. Where have they gone?

Doesn't seem to be a way. I just put a signal tools plug on the master buss but this still doesn't help you on individual tracks.

I think digi are operating on Joe Meeks advice "if it sounds right it is right!"

So you are saying that they removed the volume/peak level/delay indicator in 7? That seems pretty stupid, but then again so is the new site. All that Flash BS, but not one decent screenshot.

One of my complaints when I purchased the 002r was the delay and inaccuracy of the meters. I'm sure its a firewire bus thing as the 001 (pci) didn't have the meter delay... progress.

The Volume/Peek/Delay is still there. I use it all the time. Just Command-click the indicator to toggle it between the three modes.

best wishes
