Default phase/polarity in pt LE

can't seem to find a way to put one of my overhead tracks out of phase with the other. ive seen this in other daw software, am i just missing it somewhere?

PT doesn't have an obvious, visible "switch" in the mixer window to do that. However, just insert some plug ins, and see if they offer you the phase invert option. Most do.

The TRIM plugin. That's what it's for. Hit the 'phase' button.
