Default Full Channel Strip for Focus Fader

Is there a way to designate a different channel as the focus fader? I loved on the System 5 that I had full control of the focus fader. The same thing on the D-Control. This would be more like what you did on the D-Command and made a quasi focus fader.

No, the Attention Fader is assigned or de-assigned to the Automation Module.

Okay thanks Jeff, hopeful that could be added as an option I'd love to be able to use a full channel strip for a focus fader if possible.

the workaround I use is to assign faders on the right side from 2 up to the second spill zone and have fader 1 always bank to the attentioned track.

That's a great idea, if I understand you correct
  1. The right spill zone is 2 - whatever
  2. Tracks local option "Auto-Bank to Attentioned Track" is enabled.
  3. Settings:User:Banking Justifcation Mode:Right of Master Module
  4. Settings:User:Automatic Spill of Attentioned VCA:Spill Zone Right

are your settings. The reason for number 4 is so I can see my VCA master right next to the spills if I attention a VCA. I can only attention from the Tracks page and not from the attention button on a fader (which in most cases would be what I would need).

With our configuration, I would set it this way if it helps anyone based on your great idea! It would be nice if the attention button also could work with this (perhaps it can and I am missing a setting). Center section faders have to be faked out as to the far right of the console after the faders on the far right side and set as a right spill zone (still working out best preferences as workflows develop).
1) The left spill zone is 1 - 15
2) Tracks local option "Auto-Bank to Attentioned Track" is enabled.
3) Settings:User:Banking Justifcation Mode:Left of Master Module
4) Settings:User:Automatic Spill of Attentioned VCA:Spill Zone Left
5) Settings:User:Spill Left (and Spill Right) Justifacation Modes: (left side) Right.

Semes like a pretty nice solution, I'll have to play with that for a few sessions.
