Default Latest Gen Macbook Pro, Win XP, 7.4cs5, constant 9092 and 9093 errors

I bought this laptop partially because I saw everyone on here saying it would work great with pro tools LE on the windows side. I need to run the PC version because I have some avid software and would like to not have to switch between OSes..

anyway, i get 9092 and 9093 errors. ALL THE TIME. regardless of track count etc. I have disabled on board sound, on board NIC, did all the tweaks DIGI suggests, stopped processes, stripped out software etc. etc. and it still gives up the errors...

I was on sp3, rolled back to sp2.. applied dual core hotfix or whatever, everything...

i am running projects off of an external firewire drive. formatted ntfs or hfs+ no dice..

whats the deal?

What Digidesign hardware interface are you using?

Could you please post a Sandra report on the Macbook with it setup exactly like you would use it for Pro Tools? That will help us troubleshoot.

I'm one of the ones who highly recommend the macbook for Windows, and mine is running very smoothly. I can help you but I need that additional information.

Also, which Avid software?

That is definitely pertinent information. Make sure you are plugging them into the USB port closest to you, furthest away from the screen.

Also, go into your hardware manager, and set the power management properties of each USB Root Hub to NOT "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" (you probably don't need to do the ones for the bluetooth and IR, that's up to you).

It is also completely necessary (for me, at least) to disable the wireless network card when using Pro Tools. I usually turn off both network cards, myself.

What case is that firewire drive in? Does it have one of the qualified Oxford chipsets?

i did the usb power thing, i run the 15 inch model which digi says i can only use the left port on. and the drive has an oxford chipset.. its a glyph firewire 400 series, that my company has a bunch of, because they are digi qualified

i had better luck after disabling the internal camera... i didnt disable the drive until i saw it in the sandra report.. i must have skipped over it.

it seems better but i did run into the same problem. after i left it looping playback over a large session for a few hours. i guess that is an extreme case though.
