digidesign pro tools set up and 002..help

Who can help me to Configure digi002 with Pro Tools LE 8, I went into setup but I think I need a hand, when in fact, on the digi002, I press play, or any key on the console, Pro Tools does not start ... how should I set to "setup" so that I can control the pt from the console??

Does the 002 actually work? Are you aware of the "power harness" issue? I am not sure if that is what is going on, but PT8 with an 002 is usually simple. Load up the software, attach the 002 when asked, complete the install, reboot, open Pro Tools the first time and enter the authorization code. Your next step would be to post a Sandra report as described here: Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting!
After that, I would try to find someone nearby that also uses an 002 so you can verify that yours is working. If its the controller version, what is displayed on the scribble strip? Will it go into Stand Alone mode? If the scribble strip stays blank, or Stand Alone mode does not work, or the mute light will not go out, then the power harness may be the problem.
