Big [bleep] Drums, or Superior Drummer?

I KNOW it's a matter of personal taste, but which drum library/sampler should I go with?

Big [bleep] Drums (bfd), or Superior Drummer (dfh - drumkits from hell)

Please advise...

I think the answer to your question really hinges on your answer to this question: what type of music will you be using it for?

Well, it depends, of course. First I bought BFD a couple years ago, but I didn't get good results. Now, just so you know, that was my own fault I'm sorry to say.

Then I bought DFH Superior and Custom&Vintage maybe 4-5 months ago, and now I get great results using DFH.

I've thought about this and I'm now a much more skilled engineer, so that's the main reason I favor DFH at the moment.

You need to be skilled to get that "great record sound". I'm not there yet, but I'm getting closer.

Both BFD and DFH are "raw" samples (except C&V being slightly colored), so you need to mix it like a real kit (i.e. compression, eq, reverb).

I bought (dfh) Superior Drummer yesterday. I am a somewhat experienced engineer myself and love the fact that I need to compress and eq the drums myself.

I bought Superior Drummer + the Custom and Vintage package yesterday, - and I am still installing! 18 DVD's in total. Man I am exited.
