Pro Tools 10 Native card

Okay, I get that the new HDX hardware will not support TDM or RTAS, so if you purchase a new system (when HDX becomes available) you would then have to wait for all the third-party plug-in manufacturers to catch up with AAX versions.

But what about Native? Will the current Native card continue, or will it be replaced as well with a new one that only supports AAX Native? Or will the Native version continue to support RTAS?

Can't find any info on this on the Avid sites.

RTAS will be supported until PT 11, at which time there will only be AAX Native (for Native and DSP systems) and AAX DSP (for HDX only).

AAX Native currently works on legacy HD, HD Native, and HDX.

AAX DSP only works on HDX.

TDM will not work at all on the new HDX cards.

I think you're confused about what the HD Native card is. It doesn't host DSP like the TDM cards, so RTAS/AAX doesn't matter for Native card compatibility, whatever the "Native" format is (RTAS or AAX) the Native card will support it, but it will never support the DSP versions (TDM or DSP AAX).

Right. The Native card is a pretty safe purchase for the foreseeable future..
