I'm really liking the Track > Commit feature for my Melodyne workflow, especially "Commit Up to This Insert" on the Mix channel strip. I didn't notice this feature in previous PT.

I know, right? Works beautifully for Melodyne workflow. Commit and Freeze have been there for a while now.

However, I never saw that the freeze feature made much difference in saving CPU or memory before. With current version of PT and MacOS 10.13.6, this is very noticeable.

In a current session I'm working on, I went from 80% CPU and 90% memory, down to 48% and 52 respectively by freezing 16 out of 53 tracks. I have an old iMac so when this feature first was introduced, I was hopeful, but it didn't seem to do much.

I just recently had to try freezing all these midi tracks and other audio tracks, and the savings are now much more noticeable.

These two features are lifesavers for people like me who are stuck with an old mac for the time being.

10.13.6 + PT 2017.7 rock!
