Default Re: 16 core dual Xeon not enough cpu...

For me(HP z820 12-core, 3.5GHz, 64GB RAM), spikes are almost always caused by either Melodyne, KeyScape or Ozone 8 if I am on the 64 buffer setting. If I up the buffer to 1024, all is happy. If I need to track anything, those plugins are made inactive while the buffer is down for recording. I track piano midi with MiniGrand, swap to KeyScape and commit.

I've read that distributing instructions across multiple cores increases latency so audio developers are hesitant to do that.

Hey bro bet that Xeon 16 core 32gig especially 32 gig of Apple ram ....that Apple Ram is fortune buy itself..... and it must have set you back quite a few thousand dollars, what $6,700!?
got to admit it that I’m a bit jealous here!!!

But.....That happened on my dual core and quad core iMac but it was caused by a “virtual instrument” so it could be that but if it’s audio it could be A particular plug-in that you using tried turning them on and off each and everyone of them except for stock standard ProTools plug-ins it could be a hyper threading problem which is a whole different issue altogether and you Will need to learn how to turn “ hyper threading on.”
