Default failure to launch

I need help!!

I run windows VISTA 34 bit (premium) and am running Pro Tools LE 7.4. - and pro tools has been functioning on this machine. I haven't run the application in about a month or more and today received this error message:

Pro Tools application has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

What has happened, does anyone have an idea?

It is definitely the culprit. Roll back to IE7. Instructions in one of the stickies above.

Sticky:Tech Alert - Installation of Internet Explorer 8 may cause Pro Tools to not launch.

It worked, I am grateful for your assistance. I called microsoft to ask about the problem and after 3 guys telling me IE8 wouldn't cause the problem if I thought it through logically, I finally got an agent on the phone who confirmed 8 as the problem and uninstalled and it's working great again.

Glad you got past this but I'm curious why the technical advisory written by Digidesign wasn't convincing enough...?
A search of this forum would have confirmed numerous users who confirm this bug.
Calling M$ would have never crossed my mind. Had the M$ tech you spoke to even heard of Pro Tools?
