The Mbox 3 line are still supposed to be getting updates, http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...EUCON-and-ISIS lists devices that will not be supported beyond Win 8. That said, I don't have any info on when/if drivers will be updated to fix particular problems.

There may not be new information on when a new driver to fix this particular problem is. However

Does Avid recognize this is a problem and not an isolated incident?

DO they have any kind of response, workaround or fixes we can try to solve the problem?

Is there any information on what may be causing the issues so we can explore potential fixes and workarounds on our own?

A few suggestions - try another USB cable. If you're connecting to a USB 3 port, ether try a USB 2 port if your computer has them, or use a USB 2 hub between the computer and Mbox. Be sure to go through the Optimization guide (there isn't one for Win10 yet, so use the Win8 one), especially the parts about power saving features.

This might help some of you, it did not for me but something interesting happened. I installed ASIO4ALL in my last attempt to get MBOX 3 PRO to work and get recognised in ProTools 12 on Windows 10, it worked, it recognised mbox and loaded the session, however.... thats it... never got further, wont play, the only output offered was a SPIDF. Point is it may work for you, search ASIO4ALL...

I ran through the optimizations for Windows 10 as found here.
http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/t...ndows-10-Guide

My MBox is a firewire not USB. I although can try changing ports on the firewire card since it has two. It is the LSI card recommended by Avid.

Since I lasted visited here I have tied the following with failures.
  1. Bought a new and different firecard card
  2. Tried the firecard card with power supplied by the computer.
  3. Used multiple different firewire cables
  4. Used all the various port combinations on the MBox and the firewire cards.
  5. Updated all my drivers on the system.

Bottomline for me is that the Mbox is not truly compatible with Windows 8 or above and seems worse on a Windows 10 system.

Until Avid produces a new driver we're SOL.

Time for a newer better supported AI for me since Avid has no time frame for a new driver and seems unwilling to share any info.

Hi there, one thing to take into account, is your firewire card by Texas Instrument? This seems to be one of the more popular cards with a chipset that works well for audio configs. My texas worked fine on Win 8.1, I also had a Startech one which did not work for the Mbox 3 pro. There is a program called OhCitool which can check your firwire card compatibility with motherboard, google it.
Good luck, I am moving on to 8pre, Win 10 drivers out soon...

Hi,

I have on startech and one TI chipset. That is why I tried the second one. I will download the program you mentioned just to be sure.
I ran the OhCitool and both received no capability issues.

Thank you.

I just noticed that the driver page now claims windows 10 support for the MBox pro 3,
http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/d...ox-Pro-Drivers

Since this is now supported and my equipment and firewire cards are all in order how does someone go about getting a real person to help get it working correctly.

I have put in my due diligence with my time and efforts to get this to work and could use some real technical help from avid.

OMG this is hilarious, they must have added the Windows 10 support text recently because it was not there before and notice the driver is still 2014. There is something very misleading and fishy going on, I would personally advise anyone that has clean installed Windows 10 to stay away from MBOX 3 PRO...
