Default Automatic mute while recording ?

Hi guys.

I'm really a newbie here so here comes my first newbie question.

How do I turn on automatic mute while recording.

I'm using Mbox 2/PT7LE and I've been using man. mute for the track so that I don't get big delay of the input though the PC.
I know there should be a possibility for automatically mute while recording but... no can find !!!

Help Please.

Thanx in adv.

bmkarls,
Welcome..
I don't think there is an "automatic" mute for the record enabled track.
It doesn't take longer than 1 second to put it in manual mute IMO..

happy tooling,

Well....
I've heard that this should be possible....
Like when you want to re-take one chord or something like that... you should be able to set PT in record and at the spot where the chord is an automatic mute would mute the track so that the output from the track whould not be played to the interface....

hmmm... can somebody turn on the light at the end of the tunnel.... please.

Did you mean.."quick punch" mode with "auto input monitor" enabled ??

yes but there is a delay. I have a HdPhone mixer and the return on the recording tracks from PT has a delay and it is just annoying. How do you get around it?

Set your playback buffer to the lowest setting your computer can handle, and ONLY monitor from Pro Tools(no direct sound). I track at the 64 buffer with my 003 and never have issues

Thanks Dave.
I track at 64 too. Any shorter and I will have negative values. It still is too long. You see Foley needs that kind of precision.
