How to Use Magical8bit Plugin in PT

I have MP and a PPC Mac. I'm not too familiar with plugins, but as far as I can tell, one opens a plugin by simply clicking on the plugin insert window in a new session. I have tried to open the Magical8bit plugin using this method and am unable to do so (and I tried on every possible insert, just to make sure).

As far as I can tell, the plugin was installed correctly. According to the instructions, it simply needs to be put into the "components" folder, which is accessed thus: HD-library-audio-plugins-components. I simply dragged the program into the components folder and then double clicked on it to open it up. It starts to open a new PT session, but then says "not a valid PT session file."

Mac OSX application that supports Audio Units plug-in (example: Logic, Digital Performer, and Garageband).
