Default Something Cool...maybe

Hey all!

Just got a phone call yesterday from a sales rep at Ilio. He told me about a new rtas instrument called Stylis (I think that's how you spell it).

Anyway, he said the drum sounds are suitable for all styles of music (R&B, techno, pop, rock, etc.)
and it has groove control, so you can adjust the tempo and the overall drum tone.

He told me the PC version won't be available for about 2 to 3 weeks, but the mac version is available now. The price is $299.

It sounds pretty interesting to me and I thought I'd give you all a heads up on it since it would run as an RTAS plugin.

If you're hip to Ilio and Spectrasonics sounds, you know that they're top notch! Sting uses them quite a bit, so this one may be worth looking into.

Here's a link to Ilio http://www.ilio.com

Later!

Hey Guys,

How would you actually use this device with PT? I ve been using a DR707 as my writing guide track, then go to acid for the real deal.

will this device keep it all in PT with comparitive results with acid?

Hi Bloux!

The way the sales rep explained it to me was that you load it in Pro Tools as a standard rtas plugin. From what he told me, Pro Tools will recognize it. So when you open your list of rtas plugins, Stylus will be in there. (hopefully

In the meantime, checkout their website. Also, here's there phone number 1-800-747-4546

Well it looks like it, it smells like it, and it acts like it...could it really be??? Its about stinkin time, and it sounds like this will be the first PC product using it, with many more hopefully to follow.

Direct connect will be such a beautiful thing.

actually, it appears to be more along the lines of a RTASi type of plugin, similar to VSTi and DXi. I think direct connect is only for external apps.
