PT HD has 9 DSP chips per card. Also, the chips are the newer 100 MHz Motorola 56k series, and all are of the same type (256K SRAM). Mix cards had 6 80 MHz chips where 3 were 128K SRAM, 1 without additional memory and 3 with 512K DRAM.
This makes not only for more power, but also less plug-in shuffling. At 44.1/48kHz the HD Core should have about twice the power of the MixPlus. At 88.2/96 kHz you should have about the same power as in a mix system at 44.1/48 You have 512 timeslots @44.1/48, 256 at 88.2/96 and 120 timeslots at 176.4/192 kHz. |
