Cant acces HD Drive...

This happend suddenly.. ive been working on 2 raid disks without problem until yesterday.

when i want to create a new session PT dosent allow me to put it on those disks..???

When i try to open older session..PT Dosent find the audiofiles ( but i had a copy of the session on another disk so at last i colud fix that session )

Anyone seen this ?

Im running PT8.01 on HD 3 system / Icon console.

mac G5 2,7 8 G ram Leopard

Eftersom det står Bobbysweden kanske jag kan svara på svenska? Kolla i workspace om det kan vara så att den har ändrat så att din raid står som "T" transfer eller "P" playback istället för "R" recording. Prova isåfall att ändra till R som det ska vara. Jag har varit med om att detta har ändrats ibland utan anledning.

You do know that RAID is not supported by PT?

Yes .. you were right .. something had changed in workspace .... the disk were set to "transfer" .. not write"

yeah, but that doesn't mean it won't work. he's just got no parachute when he jumps out of that plane so to speak. I'm reading/writing video off an apple X-San with a Mojo. Support, no. Works, yes.

No ..i didnt know... but i asked the store when i bought the drive to check that the drive was recomended by digidesign... ??????? and they did.

The drive is supported but using it in a RAID setup isn't.

Just hope you never need that parachute one day! when you come to the forum because your session is hosed

Can't remember the reason now, but there is a valid reason its not supported

Actually, RAID works fine, as long as you're using a real hardware RAID instead of cheaper software RAID solution. PT cannot make a difference between single hard drive and a hard drive array, just as it cannot tell how many disk platters and read/write heads are in a single hard drive.

The reason why software RAID is not supported is because it takes unknown amount of CPU time to process and that's not good if you want to use RTAS in your session.

But please remember that unsupported does not mean that it doesn't work, and inversely, if something works it does not mean it will be supported. If you need to, you can always try and live without support.
