updating your computer - when?!
Hiya,
I've had a 2.7GHz G5 for about two and a half years now. It runs like a dream, I'm really really happy with it. However, I worry about the day it'll die in that horrible mac fashion! I had 2 macs (one powerbook and one g4) die suddenly of "Logic board failure" about three years ago. this obviously renders the machines useless and un-tradable, so I wondering if you guys have any policies/habits regarding when you upgrade??? Thanks, Steve

Re: updating your computer - when?!
If you're very happy and things are running smooth, and if there is nothing more that you need from an upgrade than I wouldn't do it. I had a G4 that I pushed to every conceivable limit for years and it never died. Same thing goes for my G5 now.
A problem isn't a problem until it's a problem. I don't think you should try to be a step ahead of a potential rare disaster by upgrading. Just my thoughts!
