Default PTLE 8.0.1 "Unsupported Plug-ins"

Hi everyone,

I'm having problems finding an answer with question while searching so I hope you don't mind me posting. Please don't flame me if this is old news.

I have a PTLE Digi003 system I'm running on my G5 with OS 10.5.8. I currently run 8.0cs3 as my software. When the release for 8.0.1 came out in Oct 2009, the installer warned that certain plug-ins, in my case Mod Delay (from PTLE 6), EQ II and Dynamics II were either unsupported or scheduled to be unsupported, and therefore the installer would dump those existing plug-ins to my "unused" folder.

Needless to say, I never completed the upgrade.

My concern is that I still have many old sessions with those plug-ins still employed that I want to be able to maintain.

So, my question is, if I were to proceed with the upgrade, but then drag those migrated "unused" plug-ins back into the actual plug-ins folder, would/do they still function in Pro Tools' sessions? I'm just not interested in upgrading and then having to go back and rewrite hundreds of EQ/Dynamic/DLY parameters on sessions that I consider completed.

If anyone can shed light on this, or at least direct me to an old thread that contains the answers, I'd really appreciate it. Just been burned too many times with "updates."

If it ain't broke ....

Chris :)

So long as you drag them back into the valid plug-ins folder, yes?

Thanks,
Chris
