Will pt8 have the wave driver for vista?

The wavedriver issue with Vista is a Vista issue, not a PT issue.

Actually it's a problem dealing with the Digi Wave driver, Digi hardware, and Vista Ej.
Since version 6.4 PT install applications have included the Wave and ASIO drivers in the package.
Pro Tools or not, it's a valid question... no?

The last comment I know of from Digi was HERE in August.

I wanted to let everyone know that we've been aware of this problem for a long while and are looking at ways to solve it, however the solution will require a complete rewrite of drivers as well as likely firmware updates for Digi hardware and will definitely many months in the making. At the moment these plans are just in the formative stages, so an actual release date for compatibility is not even available yet. I would suspect it wouldn't be until late 2008/early 2009 at the earliest.

I'm sorry I don't have better news, but thought you would like to know at least a little bit, rather than nothing at all.

From that, I'd say it's possible... or soon to follow.

It will not be included in Pro Tools 8, but we're looking at implementing it in the driver update project in early 2009.

This is in no way a guarantee - there are several factors that could influence this, some of which still need to be evaluated.
