Space bar stops then goes back to beginning

I'm accustomed to using the space bar in players to start and then resume playback. In PT11.0.1, the space bar stops playback, but instead of resuming on the second tap of the space bar, the track pointer returns to the beginning of the clip. Is there a means of getting the usual stop-then-resume functionality?

That behavior is with Insertion follows playback off. The key "N" toggles this on/off, and a symbol right below the pen tool reflects the state.

this is a classic, since the n key is next to the space bar and some people hit it without realizing it. Nice way to play a practical joke on yourself.
