Does it matter what type of drive is used for backing up?
I haven't been able to find a definitive answer to this on the threads. I currently record to a Glyph GT050Q. I'm just getting ready to start recording for real (I've been learning for the last 5 months) and want to insure I back up these new sessions I'll be recording.
Does it matter what type of external hard drive I buy for strictly backing up files? I won't be recording to this, just using it to make backups of session folders of finished songs. I would think it doesn't matter since the drive will be used strictly for storing files.

I don't think it matters as long as it's just for archiving. I use a external USB drive for backing stuff up all the time.
