URS First to Develop Mouse Scroll Wheel Control of Plug-ins

(January 20, 2005) — URS (Unique Recording Software), a 2004 Mix Magazine TEC Award Software Technology nominee for their Classic Console Equalizers, has invented a revolutionary way to control Pro Tools plug-ins using a mouse with a scroll wheel.

URS has added wheel mouse control to all eight of their Everything EQ Bundle plug-ins for Mac OS X (TDM and RTAS). Support for Windows XP and Mac OS 9 will follow.

This feature makes controlling plug-ins with a wheel mouse fast! Simply move your mouse pointer over the knob, slider, window, switch, or button you wish to control, and without clicking just move the scroll wheel of your wheel mouse. The scroll wheel follows the resolution of the knob, window, switch, or button it is placed over. For example, place the mouse pointer over the gain knob which has a .1db resolution and each click of the mouse wheel moves the knobs .1db. Holding the option key acts as a 10x multiplier. Works with all scroll wheel mice!

The mouse scroll wheel support is a free upgrade for URS Mac OS X plug-in owners.
