no sound in plug in previews

I get sound when I play it. but when I use a plug and preview it. I hear nothing. I know I must have did something to disable it but I have no idea what I did.

if it's an AudioSuite plug, highlight the "use in playlist" button on the plug dialog box and try again.

hello, as a preset you can hear the preview only on the monitoring channels (channels 1/2)
you must set the preview channel to the channel in which you have set the plugin.
you can set these setting somewhere in the preference settings i believe.
i'm at home now, so i can't check it out, it is just from my memory.
it can be done.

ok, sorry, i'll try again.
if you have a channel assigned to output 8 and you want to listen
to the preview of a audiosuite plugin you have to assign the output of
the preview bus to output channel 8. by default the output of the preview bus
is assigned to channels 1 and 2.
so you can listen to the preview by listening to channel 1/2 or you can change the
outbus assignment of the preview bus. (every time when previewing !)
and here i can't remember exactly how you can set the output of the previewbus,
but i think you can set it somewhere in the settings -> preference dialog or in
the i/o setup. (i believe it's the last option). i have a protools free at home, but i
couldn't find this option in it, although i'm 100 procent sure it is in the mac version 5.1,
because i use it sometimes. (with dinr for example)
i won't be in my studio untill saturday so i hope that you can figure it out for
yourself by now, or that digisupport helps.
