Default You can run PT 11 on Mojave

Just answered another post on this but thought it may be useful for others so here the info:

I keep a spare drive with Mavericks installed and PT (11.3.1) on it. I simply connect the drive to my Mac, got to Applications folder on Mavericks, double click to open Pro Tools. It works fine. Always worth keeping a fully operational drive with an older OS on it for things like this.

I haven't stress tested it as I only use it to export stems from legacy projects, or to check tracks against sessions imported directly into Mixbus 32C (yes, Mixbus can open PT sessions), but it's rock solid for that, all plugins work, etc.

I'm going to post this as separate thread as I suspect there are many stuck at an older version of PT when the whole subscription thing arrived, and unwilling to upgrade their OS, or having to multi-boot to different OS just to run PT, very annoying! I just had a look at buying back into the programme but it simply doesn't make economic sense for me.

Please note I am NOT opening Mavericks OS (can't anyway as I have a metal capable graphic card now, so it wouldn't open). Check the photo in the link below to see. Wonderful things computers, sorta time machines really...

Are you still able to import audio files? I can run 11.31 on Sierra, only import audio no longer works only drag and drop.

Hi dougdi - I'll check tomorrow. I have no need of import features as I don't use PT anymore, but I'm in the middle of transferring some archived projects to another system so will find out for you.

Nope, cannot import audio, I was able to import session data though, but not sure that's much help. Here's the error message from PT

Could not complete the Import Audio command because Assertion in "/Volumes/Development/151228/ProTools/NewFileLibs/Cfd/MacBuild/../MacOS/Cfd_ImportAudioDialogMacOS.mm", line 575.
