Default HD Core and process cards faulty???

Hello,
Could somebody tell me whether the following info I got today is right or wrong:
The initial shipment of HD cards is made of faulty cards. Their chipset isn't optimized and plug-ins aren't running full speed.
According to the info I got, Digidesign is in the process of changing the chipset of the new cards, and will ship optimized cards pretty soon.
Does that mean that a whole bunch of early buyers of the new HD systems owns non-optimized PCI cards?
If yes, is Digidesign planning on letting customers turn the bad cards back?
A lot of questions that need answers?

Sounds like an urban myth to me, but if it's not, I'm sure Digidesign will take care of it.

This is absolutely false.

Can you tell me specifically who is spreading such rumors?

Hi,
I am pleased to hear that this rumor isn't founded. Naturally, the person that told me that required that his name isn't mentioned.
It's not in my habit to believe rumors, I feel good that it got confirmed as "absolutely false" by Kenn LeGault ,a Digidesign Engineer.
Thank you
Michel

Interesting ...

Is it a coincidence that the HD3 system we got relatively early on had faulty chips which Digitest couldn't detect?

Has everyone been successful in playing back the Digidesign music demo included in the HD3 CD ROM, without having little noise bits showing on the LED meters, even if audio playback was stopped?
