Low/High Pass Filter Automation Help
Hey guys, just wondering how to automate a low pass filter in pro tools le 8. I dont have any hardware other than an axiom 49 keyboard (side note: can the knobs on the controller be "learned" to control a filter in one of the plugins in protools?). If im hearing correctly automating a sweep of the lpf is what gives that effect that a lot of electronic music has that builds up to the drop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Low/High Pass Filter Automation Help
To automate your LPF, you will need to enable the automation for this parameter in the plugin window. To do this, click the frequency control knob of the filter (the one you want to automate) while holding ctrl+win+alt keys. Then click "enable automation for LPF frequency". You can write the automation with a mouse holding the knob or on the automation lane in the edit window for the EQ plugin:LPF:Frequency.
I think there is a way to assign a midi control to this parameter through a midi channel, but not sure about how to do this if possible. Hope that helped |
