Default Profire 2626 as submixer

I was wondering, since I've heard the Profire has a nice DSP mixer, would it be possible (and practical) to use as a mixer for during band practices? I realize without hardware knobs it's harder to do things "on the fly", but for use in a practice scenario we could just "set and forget" since it has the ability to save and load snapshots of the mixes.
