Default Drive capacity limitations?

I've been trying to figure out if there's a hard drive capacity limitation for Pro Tools. I heard somewhere that PT10 could only see up to 2TB on a single hard drive. Is that right?

I'm considering an OWC Thunderbolt drive with 4TB (2x 2TB) capacity, and want to make sure that it would work.

I tried the search function, and Avid's hard drive requirements, but don't see anything.

Anyone know about this?

Hi, I don't know for sure, but I've never heard this. I would think any hard drive space seen by the OS would be available for Pro Tools to use...

No issues here, you are confusing main memory limits or old FAT file size limits.

I am not sure why you need dual drives with a combined 4TB capacity, but you should avoid RAID on an audio drive. If you want seperate audio and sampel drives then leave those drives as JBOD.

Thanks for the responses!

I should have mentioned that I was planning to run the TB drive in "independent" mode (jbod?), so no RAID. Also, after thinking on it a bit, I'd be more likely to get the 2x 1TB versions. My thought was to run the first drive as my primary audio drive, and the second drive as a backup. I'd also have a USB backup drive I could keep off site when the project is finished. We're recording at 96k, and I'm guessing we'll end up with 700 GB of data when all is said and done.

Any thoughts?
