Default 002 or 003 as a control surface for ProTools HD

I couldn't find this in any search, so I'm just going to ask it.

Is it possible to use a 002 or 003 as a control surface for an HD system?
I'm looking to get a control surface, but I also occasionally need to do location work.
That's where the LE system would come in handy. Can it be done through MIDI?

Thanks,
JZ
