Default Re: Need tips on preparing tracks for CD-Audio

My old iPod can't segue from one song to the next without stopping at least a little (but you can set your preferences so that one song fades out as the other comes in). My new iPod Nano doesn't stop from song to song, though. Plays just like a CD in a boombox.

It may also be this way with older versions of iTunes. Do you have the most recent version?

Update your ipod with the latest version of software/firmware. They now have a "gapless playback" feature.

Even with my new iPod (5G) and the latest iTunes software and the album set to "without gaps", the transitions between tracks are not perfect. It seems that the new feature is not as solid as we want.

Correction:

After bouncing the full, continuous mix to the hard drive, importing the long stereo file, chopping it up in pieces and exporting the pieces to iTunes, they actually play flawlessly now. The mistake I did was to bounce one piece at a time from ProTools. Like some of you said, the secure way is to bounce the whole, long mix first. This means that even if I bounce one piece and start the next piece at very exact point where the previous piece ended, the transition between the two pieces will not be perfect.
