002r as primary sound card

I had it set as my soundcard but all of the sudden, it doesnt work with media player or any other media player....? Any suggestions as to what the problem might be? It shows up in control panel and I can set it to be the soundcard but no audio when I try to play anything through any media player. It has been set this way for a while with no problems...
