Default Digisnake ??

Hi,

I´d like to buy an AES/EBU digital Digisnake to connect the XLR Male and XLR Females to analoge devices (such as an Eventide H3000 and a TL Audio Pa-1) and that way have 4 ins and 4 outs in a single DB25 conector.

http://secure.digidesign.com/index.c...&productid=686

Is that possible, or it only works in digital AES/EBU?

Regards

Assuming you are using a 192 interface, that won't work...

Look at the possible connections of the 192, and you'll see that there is one DB25 for +4 analog ins, one DB25 for -10 analog ins, one DB25 for analog outs, one DB25 for AES/EBU, and one DB25 for TDIF.

Unless you wanted to do a custom build, you can't mix analog in/outs.

DigiSnakes are well built and are of high quality at a fair price. You can't go wrong with the digi branded product. There are other sources of wire too... some more expensive, some less.

I´m not going to connect the snake directly to a 192 I/O, I want to patch it to a DB25 patch.

I´ve got the 192 I/O connected to that patch too.

AES/EBU spec cable makes for a fine analog path. It will work in the application you described.

If I understand the question correctly you want to use the Digital ARS/EBU db25 to connect to analogue devices.
That will not work.
The analog inputs and outputs are on separate db25 connectors.

now if you have the AES I/O for your H3000 that would work.

Will this work for you?
You'd just have to adapt or replace the M/F ends as needed.
I knew that I had read that the analog snakes were also 110 ohm and were good for digital or analog signal.
I also think Markertek will custom make any configuration you need.
They might even have that in stock.
